Who can be listed as a dependent?

Your spouse and dependent children can be added as dependents to your coverage. Keep in mind that anyone who is on active duty in military service cannot be a dependent. If you’re still wondering if your child can be listed as a dependent, check the technical insurance jargon below.

Dependent Child means:

  1. Your unmarried: children, newborn children, stepchildren, legally adopted children, children in the process of adoption, foster children; or

  2. any other children related to you by blood or marriage or domestic partnership who live with you in a regular parent-child relationship; provided such children are primarily dependent upon you for financial support and maintenance and are less than the limiting age of 26 years.
